How to Stop Eating So Much

Having trouble cutting back on something you eat too much of, but don't want to cut it out of your diet completely? Use these tips to help yourself!


Instead of trying to stop cold-turkey, try to cut back one in an allotted time. It will be a lot easier, plus you won't feel so deprived. 

Think about all the good reasons why you are trying to limit yourself. Does it give you gas, or maybe it's stopping you from losing those last ten pounds? These are good reasons why you need to limit yourself.


Even though this isn't a drug, you are treating it like one by overindulging. You are allowing yourself to become addicted, and this is a very bad thing. Food should not be the center of your life. Try to get involved in activities, whether it's knitting or basketball, that allow you to take the focus off food in general.
 

Substitute something healthy for the bad thing your eating. A piece of fruit or some yogurt is a lot healthier. There are so many choices that are very healthy, like grilled chicken with minced onion, or a fruit salad with yummy strawberries.

Don't think of this as punishing yourself. Think of it as improving your life by getting rid of something that has taken control over you. You will feel so much better when you don't feel like you have to have that certain food.
